Licensed NBA Cell Phone Socks Rock!

B-Ball, hoops, one-on-one, there are a lot of ways to say basketball, but anyone who's a fan knows that "NBA" says it all. Action, excitement and speed characterize the game as the players dribble, spin, pass and shoot the ball. One of the most electrifying of all the pro sports, professional basketball calls for a level of skill and physical dexterity that most people can never achieve.

The game was invented by James Naismith over one hundred years ago, in 1891. On the faculty of the YMCA training school in Springfield, Massachusetts, he needed to find a game that could be played indoors during the brutal Massachusetts winter, but one which did not take up a great deal of space. He also wanted a game that relied more on skill than on bodily strength, one that would help hone critical thinking and strategic thinking skills.

Recalling a children's game which he had played as a child in Ontario, Canada, Naismith organized the first historic game. Nailing up two peach baskets on the walls as the goals (hence the term "basket-ball") and using a soccer ball, Naismith set the game in motion with thirteen rules he devised. These rules are still the basis for basketball today.

Over the next several decades, basketball gained in popularity, becoming an Olympic sport as well as a very popular college sport. By 1949, the various leagues that had developed merged to become the National Basketball Association.

The NBA currently has 30 teams, five teams in each of the six conferences. There are fifteen in the eastern division and 15 in the western division. Names like Pistol Pete Maravich, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar are legends. The Celtics, the Lakers, the Bulls and many other teams play to sold-out arenas.

Following the game with all its ins and outs and strategies is a great pastime for all ages. Families, couples and singles enjoy cheering for favorite teams from the sidelines or the comfort of a living-room couch. Fans love to sport jerseys, hats, jackets and cell phone accessories with their favorite team logos. These one-size-fits-all socks also provide excellent protection for your customers' phones. Stock up on our great licensed cell phone socks and have them ready for the b-ball fans to come trooping in.
